| I got an ATI radeon 4850 XFX 1g, since i needed a video card badly. Its a great card, but newer games are coming out with DX 11 & stuff that i cant run on this. Should i get a better card? Any suggestions?

4850s are fine. pick up a 5850 or something when prices drop.
EDIT: wait, you want to return it? go for it, get an xfx 5850. or wait for prices to drop if you can.

Let's see,
DX11 is useless, since devs have to waste time making dx9 and dx 11, and forcing consumers to have ATI card at this moment ( FERMI is not a viable option as it prices worth buying underage children.
4850 is run most gaem fine, fuck you getting a 5850 for? overkill unless you going to ultra high resolution.

| dx11 is bullshit. Games to come will run on dx10 still. I have never seen a game specifically say it needs dx11

Except you're clueless as usual and don't realize dx11 has the capability for graceful a fallback to dx10.1 and dx10. It's so bullshit that you don't even need hardware support for some goodies. The API remained almost exactly the same, porting as a whole is much simplified and devs can start actually taking advantage of the new shit instead of writing naive, badly performing hackjobs.
dx11 is gaining much, much faster than dx10 did. Numerous titles already are already out with support, and the number is only going to go up. Ssteam hardware survey says 76% of people have a dx10+ capable gpu. DX9 will be phased out soon enough.

I've heard rumors that Blizzard will have a DX11 version for their new expansion. It's going to piss a lot of the Mac'ers off I bet. Or maybe they don't care.

The next expansion is DX9 as always... no point in rewriting a massive part of the codebase that's likely held together with string and bubblegum as is.
... not that it matters because WoW also supports OpenGL, which is what it uses on Mac / Linux

yes, 4850 is good enough for your game assuming you ain't gaming@ 2560x1600 with a 2.8ghz pentium 4
