Okay, so it was like last month, my laptop produces a weird sound, kinda like whistling, when i fold it while it's open. i'm currently using winvista, and my laptop's Asus F80L.

Is there any way to diagnose the problem, and if can, fix it?

Probably a wire getting a little too close to a fan (depends on the whistling sound it is making, I would have to actually hear it to tell).

Is it an external sound? If it's coming from the bottom, try opening the fan spot and checking for dust or something of the sort blocking it from spinning.

It's a high-pitch whistling-like sound, and it's coming near the Power button (near the microphone).

Try unscrewing where the fan is and check if the problem is originating from there, it most likely is.
