Only posting because I'm looking for C&C at the rate I'm going at. Usually I mess up early and I only see it after I'm close to finishing.
Started with a pencil sketch, remade it in Flash and am now repainting it in PS.
Since haunter is a pokemon, I can only categorize it as alternative art. If you have any ideas on how to improve what I'm going for feel free to post as well.
Also kind of obvious but someone will probably point it out, the bottom is what I'm currently working on and the top is the flash base I started with

Also the random white spot on the bottom right was a test, I'll remove it or work with it later.

It's decent kid, I haven't messed with pokemon since i was 12 so I can't even remember what the haunter originally looked like.

also pokemon hasn't been around that long since I recall you saying you were a "veteran"(14 + 12 = 26). Regardless I posted a reference of what it looks like.
Btw just pointing out that opinions aren't necessary nor wanted, I'm looking for suggestions on how to improve it as I go along.

Thanks, although looking back at other pieces that are similar to what I'm trying to do for inspiration makes me feel like they're shitting all over me.
Just need practice and getting used to PS.
Comments on the actual concept?

Yeah I am a veteran, and Pokemon has been around for 13 years... so I was off a year, but yeah I looked at a picture of haunter and the color is to dark but the shading is okay. I still say its kiddy shit

He pencil sketches it then goes over it in flash.
He's using PS in this one with low opacity brushes to give that texture.

The eyebrows and eyes need a bit of work along with some of the edges but it is pretty well done. I love the texture and the alternate colour too.
