I have a acer laptop, and i have a question.
On the laptop it reads: Intel Centrino 2 inside which is not nearly as good as Intel core 2.
But i got this program and did search my processor name: P7550 and that model is intel core 2.
Could it be that my laptop just got that by a mistake? As it reads centrino2 and has core2 inside? |

Centrino 2 is a chipset standard (wireless, motherboard, and CPU), whereas Core 2 only refers to the CPU. Centrino 2 means that your system reaches the specified requirements for wireless (802.11n final or draft), motherboard (PM45 most likely), and CPU (45nm Penryn). _________________

CPU-Z pulls directly from the actual CPU information, so yes, it's more than likely correct with whatever it has to tell you |

Centrino = chipset
Core 2 Duo = processor

Probably not, since the chances of confusing Centrino 2 and Celeron is slim. There is no Celeron 2 either. |

For un-tech savvy people I think the chances are quite high... _________________

People who aren't particularly interested in computers are arrogant in a sense that they refuse to try to learn anything. They'll entirely disregard numbers, and the fact that two words start with the same sound is enough for them to say it's the same thing. _________________

My laptop came with a sticker on it that said Vista, but it was XP.
No big deal. |
