Because I've got this slightly old PC that I'm currently using, and it needs more RAM.
However, at the end of this school year, I'm getting a new PC.
I'd like to buy some RAM for this current PC, but I also want to get RAM for my new PC.
Is it possible to buy RAM for this one, and then when I get my new PC, transfer it over?

| If the RAM for your current computer is compatible with your new one, then yes, you can just take it out later and stick it into your new computer.

Buy your new PC as normal at the end of the year. But when you go buy your PC, bring your old PC aswell and tell them I want to buy RAM for this old PC aswell... They'll do it in front of you.
RAM is hardware and not virtual. It can't be transferred from PC to PC.
But you can open your case, remove it and insert it in another PC as long as that RAM is compatible.

RAM common types:
DIMM
DDR
DDR2
DDR3 (( last one ))
and to be able to use them you need to check which one does your motherboard support and the frequency it supports.
you can check the frequency of your RAM by going into your BIOS and RAM details, commonly is in automatic but select it and it will let you choose from a list, that are the frequencies that your motherboard supports.

| check to see if the other computer's mobo supports that type of RAM. (also, if the RAM was bought not too long ago it's either DDR2 or DDR3, and if the computer isn't to old or recently bought it will support DDR2 and maybe DDR3)

MegaUpload has a cap of 200mb and some files aren't accepted.
Is your RAM an .exe file?

Trying to get banned?
The ram will work in another pc as long as the pci type is the same and the pin count is the same. So pci 5300 should work in another pc using pci 5300

No you guys are talking about that program RAM (Random-Acess Memory cache) right?
The new one?
It's about 1.8GB, MegaUpload doesn't accept it in my case. Tried uploading.

Your computer uses DDR2, so just make sure your new comp uses DDR2 as well and you'll be fine.

Yes usually anything pci4700 works with 5300. I dont think they mix unless you buy the right kind though.
