				| I still don't get how to find the pointers of the addresses.
 Well, all I know is..

 1) Search the value and get the addess
 2) Right click on the addy to find out what accesses to this address
 4) The offsets appeared.
 5) I get the offset, then divide it by the address using calculator then convert the hex to decimal
 6) Then search for the decimal value in CE and I will eventually find a pointer.

However, as what I have been doing.. I have the different address and it's correct, all I need is a pointer for it.. BUT I tried clicking "find out what accesses to this address, when I clicked that and the offsets didn't show up or whatever.. I tried moving around in game or change spot, channel.. server, I still didn't get any results.

Is there any other way to find pointers easier than the method above?

 Thx
 - teh n00best.

				| by about step 5 you started to do things the rong way, i suest you try the tutorial again, the first part that you mixed up at tho is when you said "divide". thats about all i can remember. _________________

				| Pointers can be tricky, I use the newest feature in CE: The pointer scanner. The scanner finds pointers in the most strange way, like I thought when adding a pointer you just need to add one address and one offset for the pointer, but the pointer search feature seems to add a list of addresses and offsets which all lead to one pointed address. I'm not sure why this is but it certainly would explain why none of my pointers ever work when I manually add them
I used to understand it as follows:
Find the value, add to code list, press more info and memorize the pointer address and offset which should between the brackets [ ] then do a HEX search of the pointer address as shown in the more info dialogue. This may sometimes find a few, or hundreds of matches. Then add an address from the list of results using the pointer checkbox option and enter the offset. Again, I used to only enter one address and one offset but the pointer search adds several, which is what confuses me.

I divided the address by the offset using HEX then convert the HEX address to Decimal, then find that decimal number in CE.. then you go, you will find a pointer because it worked for me in some cases.

Actually that dividing method doesn't work for all addresses. So I really don't know how to find pointers more effectively, besides than using pointers scanners.

 Other problem I have is..
I've found some address, but they don't have offsets appeared through debugging, or aren't they supposed to appear? All I found was 00 (or nothing) as an offset from the memory view within the address. Why is that?

Davethewave, yeah. I have heard about then new function but it's more compliated than I thought

I'm still confused tho, DarkByte.. could ya help? Thanks a lot
