For the cooler, I'm currently using the Prolimatech Megahelems paired with 2 noctua fans, and all I have to say, is that it performs very well.
I believe Prolimatech has released an adapter kit for the LGA 1156 platform.

Also, I know someone who just got a new rig with the CoolerMaster HAF 932 Case, it's quiet and the airflow is very good.
May want to consider that also.

Does it have enough room for massive cards like 5870 and such?

Haven't really read on the new cards yet, but I'm pretty sure it will fit even if it is quite large. The case is quite big..

If your concern about the length of the graphic card, then look into a case that supports the E-ATX specs.

E-ATX stands for Extended ATX and it's longer than are regular ATX board.
If a case can support a E-ATX board then the card will fit with plenty of room to spare.

The 5870 will fit in an ATX case just fine, however it will be a bit tight. No need for a full tower.

The HAF is pretty enormous, trumped only by that new corsair case which is ridiculous

LG drives has a annoying software build into their firmware called BlueBird. You will need to get rid of that by a firmware update, but that firmware only works in XP as Vista has major glitches with it.

Any more info about that BlueBird? Seems like some kind of retarded burn engine, but what does it exactly do?

It's a drag n burn utilty for those who doen't know how to properly backup their files to disc using the normal way. So they created a dumb ass proof method much like the internal burning feature already build into XP, Vista, and Win7.

Considering that a 5870 can fit in an antec 900 just fine and that that case is a little bigger, there shouldn't be a problem (HD5870 is 10.5" long, HD5850 is 9.5", case is 22.2" long). You might have to remove a few drive bays to get optimal airflow, however.
