Because both images you posted are low quality and rendering them would only ruin them further. Using them as a full stock would also result in a crappy outcome.

I don't see how you can make a "cool" banner/sig/avie with Steven Chow and you half-naked at a beach in it. 2nd pic is too small and you should provide an actual picture for the first link.
