These days the word hybrid has been uses a lot lately. When we hear it, we immediately think of cars and products that impacts less on our home (Earth), but what does hybrid have anything to do with a motherboard?
Do it save energy or what?
According to the TweakTown, DFI has created a new type of motherboard dubbed the hybrid motherboard and what they mean is actually have 2 system in 1.
The board itself contains 2 complete systems. On one side you get a Intel Atom with the Nvidia ION platform and on the other side you get socket 775 along with the Intel P45 chipset.
What's so cool about this board?
-Users can operate the 2 platforms together or independently.
-Both can have their own OS.
e.g. Run Linux on the Atom and Win7 on the other
-Saves space and energy such as if your running intense apps or playing games you can fire up the 775 side and turn off when your done, while leaving the Atom side on for torrenting, storage server, or stream media to your HDTV.
