hey guys recently my connection has gotten really pad e.g my ping on one of my fav CS:S servers has gone from like 24 to 540 even when I'm the only one on so I think someone is free boating off of my router and I have tried to set my password but when I press apply nothing happens it dosn't load a new page and if i exit and go back still nothing I am on the admin computer so what is my problem _________________

1) Try a different browser (some oddity perhaps).
2) Reset the router and try again (use a paperclip or pen or something for however long it takes to reset).
Try those real quick. |

| Well I say not to do anything malicious. Cracking (especially just for spite) is kinda lame. Plus, s/he's not doing anything illegal (at least in the US). Don't know about other places. Secure your wireless internet. |

| If your encrypting using WEP it's no wonder people can get in, just change and use WPA and it should be fine, also you could do a MITM attack sniff the traffic of the guy stealing your internet. |

WPA2-AES.
You could just filter his MAC address. There should be a pane somewhere in your router control panel that allows you to define which IP/MAC addresses can specifically connect, and which cannot. _________________

That's right how did I forget that, you can filter out which mac address cannot connect. |

Nope, WPA also has vulnerabilities and can be cracked just as easily as WEP (however taking a few hours vs a few minutes). WPA2, as far as I know, doesn't have any such discovered vulnerabilities as of yet. _________________
