I am looking for something that will let me edit audio files
For an example
I have a song, I want to delete 1 min of it off in the middle and add another song in there
stuff like that
It would be great if i could input like 3:13 to 3:58, remove that part
etc
but on the other hand i would like it to be simple, not complicated to edit
It doesnt have to be free

The Beta version means it's still in testing.
Unless your a hardcore Audacitor willing to test a possibly buggy application, then go for it.
But I'd personally stick to the Stable version...
The Beta version most likely will have extra features, and If the stable version is complicated as it is, the new Beta version may be more complicated...

I never liked Audacity, it was a rather strange audio editor.
You should try Adobe Audition or Steinburg Wavelab. Both are excellent audio editing utilities.

Or Gold Wave...
But I heard from lots of people that Audacity is good.
I used Audacity once but didn't like it...

| Audacity is pretty good for simple cut-paste style editing and it seems like on of the simpler audio editing programs to me. Really is just drag to select parts of the song, Control-X to cut or Control-C to copy and Control-P to paste. Like text editing. It has other features, but meh, if you want to do more than deleting and adding audio sections then you should choose something more advanced. The only problem with Audacity is that it seems to crash a lot, but then most media editing programs do.

it goes unresponding if there is a audio file 30mins or longer
had alot of trouble exporting it as MP3 as it just wouldnt let me
after it finally exported, it said the file is corrupt after i tried to play it
Tried to do it again but it crashed
Im going to try adobe

Im going to try adobe | That isn't just Audacity. Any audio editing program will crash 75% of the time if you're trying to edit a song that big.

"Patent restrictions", dontchaknow.
From what I remember, it wasn't that hard to use the LAME codec. I think it was just downloading the executable and showing Audacity where it is. There were instructions...

| All you need to export as an mp3 is click export and locate the LAME codec .dll file on your hard drive. I believe the file should have been installed with Audactity, but there's a chance you might need to download from the website separately.
