I was writing a few CC files and accidentally made a faulty one. When I saved it, it came up normally, but it was 0KB and I couldn't do anything with it. I couldn't delete it, cut it, or rename it.

I was wondering if there was a a method or program that could bypass this part and just delete it.

Thanks.

Thanks, but I already tried Unlocker. It doesn't work for this type of 0 length file though.

Have you tried restarting your computer first of all? I've had 0 byte sized files that have disappeared upon restarting for me.

you can go to run

type in regedit

run it

search by hitting CTRL + f and typing in what it is you are trying to locate.

Delete everything happening to due with that file (its normally only one thing don't go deleting important stuff)

Then try again.

First off, your post it spam. Secondly you'd know if you knew anything.

the reason he can't delete the item that is in question is because its registry's are corrupted (or have a different issue) and by deleting them, Would allow him to delete what he was initially trying to delete.

Next time you go about raging and re-repping some one, maybe get your answer first.

A file that is being hold by a process is not due to registry, it is do to a process creating a file and not letting go of its access cause either a; bug, coding error, user error, a exploit. You for one should know that a registry does not do the function that you think it does.

If you are so sure please read this article on what it does: http://www.webopedia.com/DidYouKnow/Hardware_Software/2005/windows_system_registry.asp

In my previous experiences with the error he is getting. I did exactly what i did for my fix. And it has worked every time. Why don't you let him try it and report back before throwing my suggestions down the drain.

Go here

http://www.softsea.com/review/UnBlocker.html

Install that software.

Rightclick on the file and click the little wand that has unblocker by it.

Highlight all the process and click Kill processes... Once they are all killed delete the file.

I restart my computer once a day, so I don't think it will get me too far to do it again...

Yes, I've tried safe mode. Still not budging...

Ah, Krue's method... Something I havn't tried yet. Thanks, hopefully it will work.
Ehh, okay, I searched for a few file and didn't see to much... Just the usual program files. I was writing in ASM so I don't know what to delete...
Meh, thanks anyway Krue. This should be usful for my future problems.

I'll look up Unblocker now I guess.
Alright, it seems like Unblocker won't work too well for me... It simply allows you to run programs with the extentions that Outlook restricts.
