My computer has been going really slow lately

about 2 weeks ago it was fast as ever.

but recently it has stooped working as fast, at one point it took 25mins just to load windows!

I have been thinking that i need to reformat or defrag?

I tried defraging it took 7 hours for 29% Q_Q

So should I defrag, if so is there any fast defraging programs out there?
or reformat

Reformat it or delete unnecessary shit on it. Also, CCLeaner is a good program to speed up your PC. Another 1 would be restore your PC back to factory format. Or go to Run->Regedit->Startup and untick all the retarded start ups for example programs running from unknown or shit other than micrsoft. If you`re running Vista downgrade to XP.

CCleaner and Avanced SystemCare are a good combination.

Install anything big recently? By big I mean fucking giant, and then later uninstalled? Probably fragmented your registry. There's a bunch of good registry defrag tools, like auslogics

Reformatting didn't take long at all for me. No more than 20 minutes.

Don't reformat. Try scanning with Malware Bytes Anti Malware. If it's doesn't pick up anything use CCLeaner to clean out unneeded application data and repair registry problems.

First step to take is, run a virus scan for your computer.
If virus is not found then there will be problem in RAM. Sometime it happens just because of dust on it. So check it and if there, then clean it.
If still you getting problem with that, then you can increase your cache memory.

I worked on his computer (ran into some problems *cough nod32 killing his internet*) there was no viruses, no spyware. Nothing really just I guess general Windows XP rot.

To be honest I would reformat. You know all your drivers are windows 7 compatible and you have windows xp which is being outdated. You have the choice xD

My downstairs desktop was loading things deadly slow, I ran uniblue speed up my pc, wich is just like CCleaner, that made a huge diffrance when it deleted 4k personal files that were saved in the temp folder, then I ran uniblue registry cleaner, got rid of 200 bad regisrties, then restarted. Ran fine.
