I was somewhat bored and had nothing to do, So I just came up with a program in VB 2008. Which actually only has 2 real features. As 1 is just... eh.
The E.L.P Program
The E.L.P is actually just 2 built in normal VB Items into one E.L.P, But added a few more features. I spent about... 2 days I think? Which it also has 1 side feature. The features are, A Calculator, A Timer, and A Notepad. The calculator results in a Button and Type in fashion. Which you are allowed to memorize the numbers and things. All of the programs in the E.L.P include a timer, But if your just looking for the time you would just use the Timer as it is faster then the other 2. The notepad in other words allows you to change the text colors and allows you to save both your Text and your Text Colors. Which includes only a set of 8 colors of the brands of Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Purple, Brown, and White. Which then also it includes a Log In screen which you can make your Account for instance and store your information in whats it's surposed to do. All of which the program includes a feature to go back even to the Log In screen so you don't have to keep on opening the application. Please tell me any bugs and as the title says don't flame unless your suggesting something better... Please ? T_T

| If you want to make a calculator, make one that really calculate really huge numbers, that is like 10000000000000000000000000000 or something. Then at least that will be worth the time to show that you made a calculator, otherwise there is really no point.

tanlihao you are wrong here (when its made in VB) because VB acts with string like it does with numbers (if possible) so you can make unlimited high numbers easily

| Then VB is retarded, for simplifying things too much and thus destroying performance.

| Code: | Hardware=Low level language
Basic=Middle/High level language
C=High Level Language |

| I still don't understand how this is in the flash games section... Also memory error, it doesn't close when you exit form, you have to task manager it.

If you want to be a fool, you can. Basic is definitely high level language.
Even the source does not support what you said, you are extremely stupid.
C is a high-level language, but... it allows low-level languages to be used, such as assembly. Even so, without using ASM, one thing that it has that VB does not has is pointers. Pointers are extremely useful for dynamic memory allocation, now go and read more before comparing C to Basic.
Hardware is not low level language. And if you want to talk about the lowest form of language, it is machine language.
By manipulating numbers as strings, it affects performance a lot if you don't know, now go back to 3rd grade.
The only thing I was wrong is what Garfield said, I didn't know VB is this pathetic, well I still used it, because of it's simplicity. However, you should never use VB to replace other languages for developing applications that requires performance.
| Quote: | | Acronym for Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code. Developed by John Kemeney and Thomas Kurtz in the mid 1960s at Dartmouth College, BASIC is one of the earliest and simplest high-level programming languages |
Quoting from your source, you should understand that what VB is about, now GO AND READ.

I am sorry, but I have seen too many people say this!!! For all I am concerned there are three main groups people use: high, medium, and low.
High - Interpreted scripting languages (Python, Basic, etc)
Medium - Compiled languages (C/C++, Java)
Low - Equal Instructions (ASM)
In low level languages, one instruction is compiled into one instruction. In medium level languages, instructions are translated into a low language and compile. In high level languages, code is normally not compiled resulting in less power and speed. And Java is considered a medium language because of its power and flexibility.
This is just a generalization, don't argue with me!
