I'm not really familiar with laptops for I've only have a desktop in my whole life .
So, what am I looking for in a laptop?Well, I'm looking for good graphic/sound and multi dvd drive to burn and as well as something that would last me a long time.
What do you look for when your picking out a laptop? I mean not building it your self but if you were browsing around in a store, what are you looking for most importantly to the least important.
It's for gaming + school work.
Of course, I'm looking for MS Office I suppose.

So you basically want a PC you can fold in half?
Consider an ASUS EEE 1000HE, available for around $380 USD as an alternative to a super-intensive machine. If you sacrifice not being able to play the latest games on the go (which I wouldn't really want to bother doing myself) or don't have a PC to use, go for a netbook. They're cheap, have very long battery life, the good ones can play HD video, and older games are still play-able.
(Otherwise, look at CyberPowerPC for a built laptop. You might find better components for less money.)

| Around 1k, I'm willing to pay. But I don't want anything really bad though.

This one seems ok, but I don't know about the graphics card. |
No, never buy laptop from iBP or CyberPower, their laptop always have something wrong in it after you get it a couple of month, I suggest you get a brand name model laptop.
I suggest getting an Asus, Sony Vaio, or the Dell studio/XPS.
