Im going to install a new windows I have Vista 32 Bit Home premium
Should I go for 64bit?
Is it really worth it besides the ram usage..
or should i just stick with 32 bit

Yes 64Bit can handle the 4GB+ Memory but having a 64Bit OS, some files running on the 32 Bit Architecture won't run on the 64Bit OS...

Most programs run fine on a x64. I've yet to have anything not work because I'm on x64 but that might be because I haven't run so many programs.

I had previously had a 64Bit OS installed, I found 2 App's not working but I don't remember what.
If you are going to switch to 64Bit OS, google search the application names you are going to install and search if they are 64 Bit capable.

Almost everything 32 bit will work fine on Vista 64, one way or another, outside of obvious limitations.

| Besides the use of all your RAM, a number of programs that process larger amounts of data have 64-bit versions, offering a decent performance gain. Try doing a few tests for yourself, maybe with the Win-7 RC candidate?

I agree, do a Dual boot of your current OS with Windows 7 7100 RC1 64-Bit...
Make some tests, see what programs you would like to run that are incompatible and check for performance differences...

Simple answer, if you don't have more than 4GB RAM that you probably shouldn't because 64bit uses more RAM than 32.
64 is the future, just like we moved from 16 bit to 32, you don't hear about people running a 16 bit interface. The same thing will happen with 32.
You shouldn't let 'program incompatibilities' make the choice for you between 64 and 32, like a few people before me have posted, almost every 32 bit app works with 64 as well.

If a program you want to use is not compatible with 64bit then it's time to find an alternative as they're too lazy to make it so they might as well close its doors.
Go with 64bit as its' starting to become mainstream.
