Well I dont know where my other thread went.. but

I have a Quad Core Q6600 with 3 GB of ram and Windows Vista 32bit. 8600GT Superclocked, as my current computer

I have to give this computer to my dad so he is going to get my a new computer

The budget is $1000 CAD

- I dont need a monitor
- Atleast 500GB Hard drive
- I dont need an OS
- I need a 9800GT 512MB

Well they say if you build your own, it is cheaper and better

Quote:

Case ( Nzxt Guardian 921 Gaming Tower Case w/420W Power Supply w/ NVIDIA Side Window )
Power Supply ( 600 Watt -- Power Supply SLI Ready )
Processor ( [New !!] Intel® Core™ i7 920 Processor (4x 2.66GHz/8MB L3 Cache) )
Processor Cooling ( Certified CPU Fan and Heatsink )
Motherboard ( Asus P6T Intel X58 Chipset CrossFire and SLI Supported w/7.1 Sound, Triple-Channel DDR3, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, 3-Way SLI PCI-E MB 3-Way SLI )
Memory ( 3 GB [1 GB X3] DDR3-1333 Triple Memory Module Corsair Value or Major Brand )
Video Card ( NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT 512MB w/DVI + TV Out Video )
Hard Drive ( 500 GB HARD DRIVE [Serial-ATA-II, 3Gb, 7200 RPM, 16M Cache] )
CD-RW/DVD-RW Drive ( [** Special !!! ***] LG 22X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive Black )
Sound Card ( 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard )
Speaker System ( iBUYPOWER 2.1 Channel Stereo Super Bass Subwoofer Speaker System )
Keyboard ( iBUYPOWER USB Keyboard w/ 18 Internet Hot /Multimedia Keys Black )
Mouse ( iBUYPOWER 1600 dpi High Sensitivity Internet Mouse Black )
Operating System ( None- Pre-formatted Hard Drive Only )
External Wireless Network Adapter ( Zonet ZEW2545 802.11n 130Mbps Wireless USB Adapter )

The build above is all for $1056 CAD with Shipping

The build has to be on newegg.ca , not .com
or tigerdirect.ca

If it is cheaper than the IBuypower then I will surely order the parts right away

EDIT: does it matter what PSU i get for the i7? Like does it have to be compatible?
Thanks in Advance

Get a HD 4770.
here is your old thread
http://cheatengine.free forums.org/getting-a-new-pc-t1574.html
(there are no spaces)

Seriously there is not need to get yourself a new system as the current one you've got is really good.

What makes you want to buy a new one?

And if you still want an i7, I'd suggest only getting a new mobo+ram and cpu instead of buying everything new, unless you want a 2nd pc

I suggest you take another case, something like the Antec 300. The case you chose has already got a power supply+you picked another PSU, so thats kinda waste of money.
I think a 3-way sli mobo is a bit unnecessary, take another mobo with 1 or perhaps 2 PCIe slots, and get 1 or 2 HD4850/70's

Also, why do you need a 9800GT?
Do you mean at least a 9800GT?

It is included in the price
and this is prebuilt
so im wondering if anyone can make a build on newegg.ca or tigerdirect for less than that

Well considering my budget, I would think a 9800GT would be the highest i can go?

Edit: Does it matter what kind of PSU i get for the i7?

PSUs that come with cases are 90% of the time garbage, and you suggest he puts a Core i7 build on that kind of power supply? Core i7 needs the most power out of any build.

Yes, it does. They are making PSUs saying Compatible with Core i7 Nahem. Telling you that the PSU you selected can handle an i7, if it doesn't say that, you probably shouldn't get it.

Remember, you can go ahead and cheap out on the PSU, but if it dies while your computer is on, your whole computer is fried, and your money is down the drain.

I was saying that it's a waste to buy a case that already has a PSU, while you're not going to use that one.
