If you've seen Pinnaple Express, you might remember Dale giving some guys a letter, then saying "You just got served". Then the guys that were given the letter would be like "Go to hell" or something like that. And if you've seen Burn After Reading, Osbourne was given the same act at one point.
What does this mean? Is it a real job?

| Nope, I haven't been that thorough in studying law. The furthest I've put myself through was Law School. We weren't graded, so I was always minimal.

The phrase "you just got served" is also just like getting "owned", "pwned",
"punked" or whatever. Basically it means someone did something that
crushed your action, idea or thought. There.... I put it into English.

That's not what it means in this context.
It's as what someone said earlier, service of process. To be served is to be literally served a legal notice. Often, the person serving you has to get a picture of you receiving the documents as proof.

It means you've been served a court notice because you have either failed to pay a ticket or show up to court. This legal document proves that you have been given you're second court notice.
