OK hey guys, ive recently started to receive small blue dotted boxes around my screen.
it mostly occurs when playing a game, could it be my monitor or my graphics?
I recently installed some new RAM 1gig x2
Ive tried taking it out but it still seems to do the blue box thingy..
if thats the problem, and my graphics card is old aswell, a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.
Im on windows vista!

help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

I suspect your video card is clocked too high, somehow (VRAM most likely). Try down-clocking it (with RivaTuner or ATITool) and see if it gets better.

Your ram isn't causing that, maybe tried changing some graphic driver settings?

I don't use Vista so I wouldn't know.

Good luck on fixing the problem, must really suck

Refer to this page for video card artifact information.
Couple questions:
What output are you using for the monitor?
Might you have an extra cable lying around somewhere?

Did you try overclocking your graphics card?
If not, try install the latest drivers if you haven't so.

I had this issue too. It turns out that the fan on my graphics card wasn't working properly so the card was overheating. Try buying a better cooler or even a new graphics card.

You'll probably have to replace your graphics card. They're quite cheap now if you're hunting for one.

Let it sit in the BIOS for a while, if you get corruption there, then you KNOW something is fucked.

Does it happen on startup? Like, straight away or not?

Get a cheap 3450 or something if you're going to buy a new one.
