For a 14 year old it is recommend that you make sure you are not working your legs as they are still growing. When working out at a young age keep in mind that you do not want to power lift because your bones could be fragile due to growth in the bone structure.
What I recommend is upper body work out.
Curl
Benchpress (Dumbell press)
Push ups
Pull ups
Tricep curls
Pec Deck
NO!
squats (or any weight on the back what so ever!)
Clean and jerk
arching ( FLAT = GOOD)
Reason why you shouldn't do those is that your back is a very bad place to work out when getting into this kind of sport. It is dangerous as well as very strainless towards your back.
Try not to throw out your back as it is vital
Also a good work out is to do atleast 15 reps of each exercise. Sets are also good but don't power lift _________________

it is essential that you work all muscles.
also, running puts much more strain on your bones than weightlifting, since your body frame has weight and the jumping up and down and stuff. _________________

When weight training not every muscle has to be built It's safer if he worries about growth more. Also weight lifting with legs and ETC is more worse then running because you put a lot of weight on it. Me I put 250KG on my legs when extending and it really hurts the legs when I am growing if I run??? That is a whole new story... He can work the legs but it's not recommended till you are 20 and officially done growing.
Most body builders will tell you that. Concentrate on the upper area before you go lower.
If you want to debate about that then I am willing to debate
Also if you need more weight on your bones you can use a supplement like protien powder to boost the efficiency of your mucsle growth.
However this will make you fat when you stop working out. Best way is to work out naturally and you will get TIGHT muscles _________________

Well, you shouldnt burn anything off.
Im 16 and I weigh 150. And I agree with tylermoore that most people
start up and go dwn.
Also, start off light and gradually move foreward. _________________

Yes, as people above have said, it's extremely important that you DO NOT pull out your back. You are still in a huge stretch of growth at about now, about the fastest you should be growing throughout puberty, and if you break your back or something like that, it can stunt your growth.
Your legs are growing much faster than your torso/legs, so it's nice to not work those out so much because they are going to be mutant looking if you spend too much time on them. I'll do a fail equation to represent that
Legs are growing faster than arms (growth = 100) while working out multiples your muscle growth by 2 (working out = x2) BEAR WITH ME
Arms are growing slower than arms (growth = 50) while working out multiplies your muscle growth by 2 (working out = x2) BEAR WITH ME, THIS IS A VERY FAIL WAY OF PUTTING IT OUT
Legs: 100 growth x 2 = 200 size
Arms: 50 growth x 2 = 100 size
So your legs would be humongous and fail looking XD
I know this seems fail, but if you use your imagination, it makes sense, just very very crudely.
I recommend repping 10-15 with Dumbells, pull-ups, sit-ups, push-ups, very easy stuff, even though pull-ups aren't easy for me XD |

Bulk = more weight less reps (6-8 )
Definition: less weight more reps(10-15)
anyway, your 5"5 and not even passed 90lbs.
pretty sure you won't get that big if anything.
Sorry to say that but its a fact, if you can eat
junk food and shit like that without gaining a
pound you won't get much more muscle. Yes
some people can do that too and still grow lots
of muscle, but they are the lucky few.

Pushups - Won't do anything if you are light(best pushups are inclined)
Crunches - don't actually do anything except get your blood flowing
Squats - do it properly or you can fuck up your back
Lunges - how is this gonna help you get big? _________________

Size does not matter I've seen kids that are 14 that are 4'6" and probably weigh around 63LB and they work out just fine.
Just don't work legs or pull back and work on your posture before you lift more and more.
*Remember that you should go for reps rather then bulk*
15 - 20 reps max!
5 sets at most (go up by 5's or 10's) _________________
