names have got mixed up and confused by overuse throughout the years,
hackers were originally engineeers and such like, fixing bugs and vunerabilities in code,
what people now call malicious hackers black hats, were called crackers, thats going back quite a way in computing history but the toilet paper that the tabloid news is written on kept using hacker to describe all code tinkerers so it stuck,

phone hacking, to get free phone calls ect was called phreaking, pretty redundant in the internet broadband age where you can talk and video link 24 hours 7 days a week for a pretty small monthly fee, but a few people still like a freebee and will do it for nostalgia, bit like the pc users that prefer to use command line rather than gui with a funky mouse, yes there are people who refuse to use anything but command line, you can get versions linux that only have that,

social engineering hackers......

well there are lots of social engineers who think they know better than the other 6 billion people on the planet and do their best to screw the rest of the world at any cost,

yes interesting that mitnick guy the politician example still stands and is confirmed by what is described about this guy,
for example uk pm blair is finally being kicked out for wanting baby asbo's (anti social behavier orders),

he was saying that if the parents were ever in trouble that would be a fair reason to supervise them and keep a big brother look over their kids, even while the mother is carrying the unborn child, in other words people would be watched in their private lives at all times,

it is already police policy in he uk to take a persons DNA for the slightest misdeamenor or in most cases for no good reason,
there are school children that have committed no crime and have therefore no criminal record , but are on a list that can be accessed by teachers doctors and potential future employers that can effect that kids future,
the kids crime has been to come into contact with the police,

blair openly said he wants every man womens and childs DNA on a national database, a bit insane wouldn't you say, I think he has an insane look in his eye's, his party has finally caught on he has to be stopped thanks to his baby asbo's

as for phones being used for this purpose...
usa and uk phones are monitored for keywords that flag up recording, ECHELON is the name given to this

also you may have had your phone near a tv or radio and heard the phones thumping dadadaadda sort of sound,
thats even when the phone is switched off, its finding the nearest transmitters, ...............why when your phone is switched off does it need to signal the nearest transmitters every few seconds, wasting so much battery charge..... mobile phone tracking technology thats why, they can triangulate between the nearest phone masts and pinpoint you to within a couple of feet.. nothing to fear if you got nothing to hide... say that to the people that had private personal emails taken out of context and released to the public, their crime these people committed critisising the labour goverments policies, so the deserved to be smeared and humiliated by the jug eared scumbag diddn't they, dr kelly ended up dead in a field after a little critisism of blair policy,

lol....IF you make programs and mod maplestory you're FAR FAR FAR from a hacker.

If you use programs such a tsearch, artmoney, cheat engine. Then you're a script kiddie.

If you make programs like DarkByte, you're a programmer.

If you inject something, cross site script something etc against NASA, you're a hacker.

If you use a prewritten script to hack a website you're a script kiddie.

Over 3/4 of forum.cheatengine.org are no hackers. I'm not one myself nor do I see alot of you as being "hackers".

FYI: Leecher is only a maplestory "kiddie game" term. Start using script kiddie.
