Some people have like -100 rep.

How do you do it???

Their -rep expires. When it does, It flings their rep into the negative zone. If they have more -reps then +reps, this happens. If they have more +rep, the +rep will expire eventually, or does nothing. It adds (say someone had -0 rep and +20, while their rep shown is -220)
Thats because they had 240 -reps, +20 positives, to get +220.

That doesn't seem to make much sense to me.
I just know that when someone has a lot of +reps, and right before they expire, they get a lot of -reps, then the +reps expire and someone has a lot of negative reps.
I don't think the rep value is unsigned or whatever. |
It makes perfect sense to everyone else. Let me do it in step by step...
1. when +rep expires, it flings your rep into the negatives.
2. -rep was either wrong or right
3. If they have more -rep then +rep, when the -rep expires, I believe that it makes reps either more negative or more positive.
4. It only changes according to how you look at it. if you click the rep, it will show, for example, "+83, -0", even though it looks like "-108"

| They donated money to Dark Byte and asked him to edit their rep to what ever number the donator requested.

Got it.
Say a person had more -rep than +rep. When that +rep expires, they will have the same number as the -rep.
For example:
+1 rep and -2 reps
*+rep expires*
You are now left with -2 rep.

Yeah, rep expires every few months. I think +rep and -rep expires on different times, I just forget when.

Then again, why pay him for something so unimportant?

I think that it's 3 months for +rep and 4 for -rep.
Let me try this...
Example:
Get 40 +rep in one month.
Get 40 -rep the next month.
The net result? 0.
But when the +rep expires, you go to -40 rep.
If no one modified your rep from there, I think it would eventually bring you back to zero.

+rep expires every 4 months.
- rep expires every 3.
In the case in the OP, someone paid to have their rep be like that.
In other cases, people attain insane amounts of +rep. When it is about to expire, they ask to be quickly -repped to hit negatives below -1.
