I have a 32 gig iPod touch 2g and I put it into DFU mode and it doesn't work at all anymore! At first it wouldn't turn on or anything, I plugged it in to my computer and did the auto install new hardware thing, it showed up in iTunes and said there was an error restoring it, so I downloaded the latest firmware ipsw and tried restoring it with that, but I got another error, now my iPod is sitting on my desk with a white screen that won't go away, it's not detected by iTunes, and the auto hardware install doesn't work.

I did a similar thing. At least your screen shows something!!
Check out my thread in Computer Help. (Not sure if it's the right section).

the white screen's good, now you need to plug it into your computer and send the commands through irecovery to boot it. it's a tethered jailbreak so that's what's going to happen everytime you boot.

what's irecovery? I was having problems and I read that if you put it into somethin called DFU mode it would reset it, so I did that and now it doesn't work.
I got it to work actually, after trying to put it into DFU or w/e again I got it back, then I tried to update it. Since it was a huge file and my internet sucks I left it running while I was at school, I got back and it says there was an error 1602 while updating, and now my iPod has the thing that says to connect it to iTunes like when I first got it. But connecting to iTunes doesn't work >.>

It wasn't even detected by my computer when I plugged it in, I plugged it into my brothers computer and it updated and restored itself, then I just installed the backup from my computer on it, it's good now, thanks.
