Microsoft does lots of things that more advanced end-users aren't happy with. Often, things can be categorized as a push to widen their user base (which is obviously the goal) by making things more "user-friendly". In this thread, post your complaints against whatever things you don't like seeing in Windows operating systems. Please note: this isn't meant to be a full-on spammed-out rant thread. If you see a problem somebody's having and you know there's a workaround or have found a fix, don't hesitate to post those. Lots of people work on that type of software for Windows, and everyone uses the same operating system, encountering the same problems as you. Here are some of my current issues:
On Windows 7:
There are some things I really don't like and can't get on board with. One of which being the "Libraries" deal. What's going on there, it's ridiculous: the further dumbing down of operating systems. Only this time, it makes no sense.
Okay, here we are. I click the "Start Orb", or whatever Microsoft wants to call it, and click "Administrator". Hoping, nay, expecting to see the usual "C:\Users\Administrator" with all of the folders that I WANT to get to. Documents, Music, Pictures, Video? I don't want you.
Oh, and the taskbar icon for explorer only opens to "Libraries". Where the fuck is libraries, that's not what I want. I can't find the registry edit to change the default location of explorer, and I can't put any explorer shortcuts to a certain place on the taskbar, they all just go to Libraries. Can't have Computer, Network Places, Documents, Administrator links there either. Useless, I tell you.
One last thing. They never changed how explorer doesn't have an "Up directory" button in Vista for some folders. As if the folders aren't inside other folders. As far as I know, there's no workaround for that, and it wastes people's time (that would use the function in those cases).
I'm sure you guys have some. (Go.)

Chill dude, it's still beta so I'm sure they'll probably fix it once the finalized version comes out, but if you want to be heard, I suggest you post what you written here to their "feed back".
On Windows 7, I really don't like that "pin" menu thing. Everytime you visit a website, the website gets pined to the IE explorer icon down at the task bar.
And it looks like Ultimate Dream Scene is a goner as Win7 also lets you auto change your wallpapers.

I got a little carried away, but chances are they aren't going to change any of the things I mentioned. They're more along the lines of "new features".
I don't mind the grouping too much, it makes it look more smoothed-over, although you can't close windows very fast with a simple right click/left click. Got to click the group and go from there.

I'm loving the taskbar in Windows7.
Its my favorite feature.
The entire libraries deal is really fucking gay though.
Pretty spot on with the hate. +1

Microsoft generally does a good job with their operating systems (feature wise, that is, the amount of resources vista need omg).
Anyway i think the main thing is peoples not wanting to change... XP has been around for 7 years now, so people have gotten so comfortable they will reject any change they get. You just have to take it on, and im sure you will grow to like most of the features.
