Well iv decided to upgrade from my shitty computper.
Iv got a budjet of around $310 and im looking to get deals at msy.
Phenom x4 9550 $198
Iv got a Geforce 8900 512 card from my dad to start me off.
Im looking for amd as their the somewhat cheaper things and all the comps in my house are amd.
What other things would I need with this quad core o.0 oh btw iv got all the cd-rom and floppy's and dvd roms.
Heres a list of what I can get at msy broken down =D

1) Those motherboard's wont work, they're for Intel based pc's, what you want are AM2+ Boards (940 Pin).
2) This is a really bad time to buy AMD, perhaps wait a few months for AM3 to be released.
3) In Australia, I recommend ITEstate, mostly because all the prices are low and not just one or two components.
4)If you must buy a phenom now, go with the DDR2, not the DDR3.
5) Notebook Memory won't work.
6)If you can afford it, get the GTX 295

Wait just a second here... there is no point buying 1 good part and the rest crappy. If your computer is so bad, your gunna need new everything basically to stop it bottlenecking..
1st. You wanna buy either a cheap C2D or Cheap Amdx2, whichever(including the motherboard) is the best value.
Then your gunna need new ram, which is cheap, around $30
Then you gotta get a graphics card for atleast casual games.
cheap:4670 : $80?
mid:8800gt: $95?
best:4830/50: $105/115
you can probably get away with the case and buy a power supply for about $75 ( 400W is ok)
In the end your getting a decent machine for about $319
What was your budget again
