Is there any way to do that? I have 2 in my PC and they're pretty damn loud when I'm trying to sleep, I use them both through the day, and I don't want to turn off all drives since I need the master on all the time. Any programs or anything?

Is it possible to uninstall them in the device manager?

Probably, but then I'd have to reboot in the morning just to reinstall them, and risk my PC being a douche and telling me I have to format them before use.

Enable/Disable in Device Manager. Don't uninstall them.

For command line, see here.

I can't think of any software off the top of my head that will allow you to do this. It doesn't make sense for Windows Power management to not be able to do that, but then again, there's plenty of things Windows can't do.
I'd have to look around and check into it, I'm just not at home right now.
I DO know, however, that you could buy hard drive enclosures for them and turn them off that way..
EDIT:
Nevermind if Blank's method works.

That would have been helpful...
I used to always shutdown my PC, open up my PC and unplug the power cables....

Tried with the disabling them last night. Either I've gotten too used to the sound of all three drives, or it didn't work...

I'll try again tonight with the cover off so I can hear it better.

Kinda figured at least someone would have made HD Management software... that does this. I'm sure it's out there..surprised it's not well known.
