I have 300 Watts Delta Power supply
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ Brisbane 2.8GHz
200GB SATA harddrive
4 GB OCZ gaming ram with heat speaders by fatal1ty
Sapphire 3450 HD GPU ( i know it sucks)
Asus M3N78-VM motherboard
2 80MM fans
1 120MM fan
1 Chipset fan
If i upgrade to a good graphics card like that ATI Radeon™ HD 4870
would i need to get a 1000 Watt power supply?
Right now i don't think im stable with 300 Watts. _________________

1000 is an overkill
You would need to upgrade to a 550-600 watt PSU tho _________________

I ran my rig on a 250 watt PSU and it ran fine
Also, If you're buying a HD4850/70 you need to look carefully if you have enough room in the case. The card is pretty big
I ended up buying a new case _________________

I would recommend you to get a corair 450watt.
It enought.
Just so you know your CPU will bottleneck like hell with a ati 4870.
Get a 4850/4670 instead.

Corsair VX450 like Humper suggested, or if you want more headroom for future upgrades, try the Antec NeoPower 550w or Corsair HX520 depending on budget.
A 1000w power supply is massive overkill like everyone else has said...
If you're in for a case upgrade as well, maybe get the Coolermaster RC 690, Antec Three Hundred of the Antec P182... Which should fit future upgrades in fine.
Don't go with some crappy generic power supply unless you have insurance on the computer rofl... And that's if your insurers are lax about claims. |

Thanks for your help My case only supports 1 80mm side fan 1 exhaustion 80mm fan and 1 120MM fan in the front. Should i get a VGA slot fan for my future GPU so i don't overheat? _________________

The cards do run warm, but you should be fine, depending on the model and how well air moves through your case. |

| As I said before anything over 4670 makes the CPU bottleneck. |

You decided to trade in your 4850 for a 8800 just for a fake OSX install? >: |
