Chords are fucking easy, and once you get the 6 strings down, playing songs off tabs is easy.
I have an Ibanez GRX20 - $250 and it's good for beginnning to intermediate students, i've had it pretty long, i might get a fender stratocaster soon for $2500.

Omg I want that guitar, well one that looks like it. Its a Bullet Strat with Tremolo, same color and design but with a maple neck and basswood body. Still sweet guitar.
Thats the one I plan to get, its basically the same thing just supported by Fender, the best guitar company in my opinion 
I suggest getting a cheap one till you get real good, then buy a Fender's Jaguar HH |
