Zunes don't break easily, iPods are much easier to break. I had an iPod video for about 6 months and the middle button started sticking and it started coming apart at the seams. I've had my Zune for the same amount of time. Not only is it in perfect condition, it also has zero scratches on the screen.
Also, not that the color of your mp3 player matters at all, but the Zune comes in two colors.
Also, the Zune navigation is MUCH easier to use than the iPod's. If you're scrolling down through a list of songs, it's much easier to either push down a button or swipe down a couple of times than to move your thumb in a circle around a pad. (Oh yeah, your thumb needs to be dry too or else it won't register.)

Well don't forget you probably will buy a case for your iPod, so the color might not matter that much depending on the type of case you get.
