Okay I want to overclock this GPU 8600GTS Superclocked

At the current settings it is

Core Bus:720Mhz
Memory Bus: 1050Mhz
Fan Control: 45%/67 degrees C

I tried to go to 1020mhz
but my screen flickered alot and just went black and had to turn off computer and return it on..

What should i configure it so it is at its best performance but doesnt die in like a month

I am using Nivdia Control Panel

JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!1

STOP NOW! SERIOUSLY YOU WILL BREAK IT

your card is superclocked which means its pre overclocked the the maximum stable value, so you dont need to overclock it. and 1020mhz is mental thats like a 80% oc ( the 8600gt stock is 540 i think)

just leave it how it is, it clocked perfectly

67C is also pretty hot if thats idle !

Are you sure you have a 8600gt? maybe you have a 8600gts because the stock 8600gt is 540mhz and the 8600gts is 675mhz and you said its superclocked to 720mhz and i think a 180mhz overclock may be a bit too extreme especially at only 5X degrees, my 8600gts runs at 55 idle and 70 load

Shit, why would you try to go up to the max from the very beginning?
Slow down and read a few articles online before you break everything you own..

Judgeing from the fact he tried to do this, and he wrote "overclock a superclocked" im guessing he doesnt know much about what hes doing and the best idea would be to stop now. 720mhz is very decent for whatever 8k series nvidia card he has.

I got my 8800GT @ 735mHz without volt mod, doesn't go up more then that without voltmodding tho.
That gives around double the preformance then his 8600GT.

But I also got a 4870X2 at my gaming computer, and compear that and 8800GT isn't fair Razz

lol... 8800gt is 2x as powerful as 8600 without any overclocking Smile

And the clockspeed isnt really much to judge, my 8600gts is higher clockd than 8800's and it sux ballls because it has like 10 stream procesors

Ofc clockspeed judge, but mostly from a 8800GT vs a 8800GT or anything like it, like:
- 8800GTS/GTX/ULTRA
- 9800GT/GTX/GTX+
- 9600GT
