This project has been canceled as I will work on it myself when I get the chance.

I'm going to start working on a Mario game but I need to get a team first.

Information:
After we get it working for one player we will make it multiplayer.
It won't be only Mario characters it will also be custom characters and characters from other games.
Language: VB 2008, C++ or Java.
It will also be based on MapleStory. Meaning there will be NPCs, Parties,...


I need suggestions on what to use for the animation. I though we could use DirectDraw but some say it's old.

The team:
VB Coders (0/3)
GFX Artists (2/2)

  • Shagakrath (RaGEZONE)
  • zekesamaz (RaGEZONE)

Animators (0/2)

I also don't like to program in VB, try something else like C#.

I think that stuff only counts if you plan to sell if for a profit.

I vote for OpenGL and something besides VB.

Well the game will be based on MapleStory and I don't have much experience with other languages but I could try.

I think that idea is a little more unique, although I still have a few questions.

-What is the basic outline of the character look?
(like the nude maplestory char w/ no eyes, mouth, or hair)

-How big of a team are u looking for?

Other wise, I would gladly help with the graphics part of it or help animate some ^_^

Well I though at first we could just make it a Mario character just for testing but when we get it working we will make a "nude" character thing.
I'm not looking for too big of a team, but as we grow, so will the team.

The reason I want to make this game is because MapleStory is starting to get boring and I want to be a game programer when I'm older so I though this would be good experience.
