-USB 2.0

-Firewire
Right now i only have USB 2.0, but still have a PCI, an AGP, and a PCI-E 1x slot free. So, which one should i get?

USB 2.0 is faster than FireWire right now.
FireWire: up to 400Mbit/s
USB 2.0: up to 480Mbit/s
It actually comes down to how fast your computer is methinks.

In terms of specs USB 2.0 is faster than Firewire, but it comes to real world performance USB can't maintain a sustained transfer rate like Firewire.
USB 2.0 is like a racer, at start, he sprints with all his energy and suddenly gets tires and slows down.
FireWire starts out slow, but since he did not do a mad run at the beginning he's able to maintain his speed and eventually beat USB.

Yes, eSATA is the fastest, blowing away the competition at over 2x the transfer bandwidth.
As for USB vs. FireWire, you guys are just comparing the slowest FireWire standard. There are 800Mb/s versions, and 1.6Gbit/s and 3.2Gbit/s FireWire products are under way. You should be able to find USB 3.0 products in 2009.

I think USB 3.0 is the fastest one also check the hard drives speed if its 7200rpm you cant beat the usb 2.0 but if its 10000 rpm u need a usb 3.0 or eSATA
