The truth is that there is no definitive best artist. Why's this? Music is open to interpretation and one man's symphony might be nails across a chalkboard to someone else. There are factors which determine the quality of music, but none are definitive. Aside from the fundamental issue which lies in this question, it is incredibly stupid to compare music from two different genres. I've seen people comparing hip-hop & rock, which cannot be done. There are intricate differences in genres and sub-genres of music which make any comparison amongst them stupid, don't try it.

2Pac (2Pac == Tupac, you fucking retards) has been mentioned quite a bit in this thread and let me weigh in my opinion... He is by far one of the most overrated artists of all time. He's a hypocrite with mediocre lyrics who died at the height of his fame, which essentially immortalized him in a sense. One poster (Acquited - who seems to have 2Pac's dick rammed far up his ass) claims 2Pac fought racism and what-not, but Bumpy Johnson handed out turkeys during Thanksgiving, who gives a fuck? It's all for public image. |
