Like how would i take a few seconds of a video on youtube and make it an avataR? help would be appreciated. Thanks, im trying to make new avatars for my myspace every so often...

i never heard of .apng..
probably something complicated...

To make a moving avatar, you have to make different images (frames) and turn them into one with programs like Gimp, Photoshop, Fireworks,... (I suggest Gimp)

Or if you don't feel like using big programs, you can just use UnFREEz, http://www.whitsoftdev.com/unfreez/
Don't forget to make your images in .gif, or else it won't work...

to make pics become animated i use picture2lifeit was very good while i was making my shoop da whoop picture

Here's one option:
1) Download the youtube video (like DownloadHelper addon for Firefox)
2) Convert the .flv to .avi
3) Open section of video in Photoshop Imageready
4) Edit to your heart's desire

ADOBE CS3/CS2 (imageready with cs3).
Very good one I use it all the time.
