try finding the routines that access the timer functions by setting breakpoints there and then tracing back to the caller.
If that doesn't work and the game uses an internal gametick counter used by all other parts of the game (I would do that if I made a game) then try finding that and find what accesses that and trace back from there.
Another method would be that the game stores a value each time you use something. That value may contains the time it was last used, OR the time it will be ready for next use.
To find that value, do a unknown initial value and scan for increased value constantly each time you've used it and you're ready to use it again, and unchanged value when not using it but just walking around
When found, just freeze it _________________
