Hey guys.
my computer has been acting up lately and I need to format it.
Fortunately, my friend has an extra burned Formatting CD--Service Pack 2 :/
The bad thing is.
My friends Japanese.
I'm Korean.
I have no fucking clue how to read Japanese.
So can anyone give me the right buttons to type to format my computer?

You don't need that CD.
Just get your XP/Vista disk, or whatever operating system, put it in the CD drive, restart your computer, go into the startup menu and choose to run from your CD drive.
The next few parts should be all self explanatory, but..
Choose to reinstall.
Overwrite/format current partition. (If theres an option to choose fast or slow, choose the slower choice since it will do a better job)
Wait for around 5mins-30mins (depending on your computer speed).
Finish the installation and your done.

To reformat your PC make sure your BIOS is setup to check CD drive for a bootable disc. If not then get into BIOS and configure it. To figure out if your BIOS is configured properly insert the disc into your ROM. Restart windows and let it boot up. If you make it past Windows XP loading screen you've gone to far and should hit F10, F11, F12. Either one of those should work but depending on the motherboard tap those keys if you get a screen with a blue window with a list of ROMS. Select a rom and hope the disc will load. If the disc loads it will say Press any key to boot from disc. Continue the setup by hitting a key. Windows setup should load a blue screen with a bar at the bottum reading your devices. When all devices on your system are done being processed you will be given an option to continue. Hit enter, then wait for a EULA to pop up. When the EULA pops up hit F8 this just means you agreed... You will be given a choice to either...
ENTER = REPAIR
ESC = DON'T REPAIR (Manage Partitions)
There's an exit thingy forgot the hot key...
Ok, it's best to have a clean PC to work with after reformating so hit ESC to not repair but to reinstall the OS completely. You will be shown a list of Hard drives. If you got more then one hard disk look for the harddrive that looks like the drive your using. If you don't know which drive look near the drive label and see that it has 0 0 0. This is your default drive...
Ok, when you found it select the partition and delete it. It will prompt you asking if you are sure. When continueing select an open space under the harddrive you've selected and hit C = Create. Normally you won't want to divide the partition so just hit enter to continue. Now select the partition you just created and hit enter to install... You will be given an option to either do a quick or full install. Full is better =]. Rest of the setup is all easy =D
