1 you get caught on cctv and it's actually stealing the other is just making a copy of something that somebody else probably didn't pay for either

Correct. Even if you do get caught, it usually costs far more to prosecute you than what the item is worth.

But unless you're unemployed and homeless on the streets stealing food, you should be ashamed of yourself for stealing anything.

Like I said before, put yourself in the shoes of the owner. Imagine working for something really nice, putting a lot of hard work into getting it, and finally getting to enjoy it. Suddenly someone just snatches it away. Wouldn't you be fucking pissed?

If you are poor and unemployed and on the streets; stealing is one of the few ways in which you can stay alive. although it is wrong, it is not shameful. -_-

I believe in Australia if you have no food you are allowed to steal some, if you can prove that you had none and no way of getting any.

I haven't stolen anything (apart from some toys when I was like 5) but depending on the circumstances I would.

Say if I had nothing, I would steal stuff.
If there was an oppressive government, I wouldn't hesitate to steal from them.

But stealing from people who dont have enough, or just enough doesnt seem right to me.
As for piracy, I do it all the time... Dont even consider that stealing.

Who wouldn't? If you got the chance to steal anything, I would encourage ANYONE to do it.. Unless it was like steal a nuclear weapon or something that could hurt many lives.. but paper money stuff.. yeah...
