I was wondering if Cheat Engine has the function scan a program's memory to see if there's any image (picture) and allow the user to save it to a file.

Sometime ago, I played a game called "Peggle" by PopCap games.
I find the backgrounds of level pretty nice and wanted to save it as a wallpaper.

I searched online and couldn't find any nice wallpaper for Peggle.

I thought that Peggle will load the background images into memory at some point and wonder if there's a program that can scan the program's memory and save the background image into a file.

Is this possible with Cheat Engine ?

If it loads them into memory then they will have to be stored as a file somewhere on the harddrive. Go look in the game's folder.

All of the images for Peggle are compressed in a file (and it's not any of known popular compression format). I read somewhere that at run time, it decompresses the files.

If it's as simple as looking in the Game's directory, I wouldn't be asking here.

More over, I am asking as a general question for the function/ability to "scan program's memory for image file(s) and save it to a file". Not necessary for the game Peggle.

No, but you could probably write a plugin that does that (but then I guess you could also just skip ce completly and do it yourself), but otherwise try scanning for image headers you know of and then save those regions to disk
