Well, I need to do my science fair research paper which is due in 3 days, and I need some peer editing and some help. I wrote some of my essay, but could not find any more resources for it :/ since my teacher didnt let me use wikipedia.

Code:
Acids
Acids, a mysterious substance that has the power to change

colors, react in many different ways, and can even harm the human

body. My science fair topic is acids because acids can have many

different reactions, there are a variety of different acids, one thing might

not mean the other, and this interests me. Some of the subtopics that I

researched was the reactivity of acids, neutralization reactions, strong vs

weak acids, acid absorbency, and hard and soft acids and bases.

Hard and soft acids and bases. Hard acids like to go to hard

bases while the soft acids like to go to the soft bases. This shows how the

acids and bases that are the same type, for example if they were hard

then they would go together while it would be the different if the acid was

hard and the base was soft. The term hard and soft does not mean that

the acids and bases or hard or weak, so the acids are split into 2 groups.

Those 2 groups of acids and bases depends on if the acid or base is hard

and soft, soft and weak, strong, and hard, and weak and strong. “We can

usually recognize hardness or softness in a qualitative way by examining

an acid or base, particularly the donor or acceptor atoms.” last

paragraph. In other words, you can find an acid’s or base’s hardness or

softness by observing the atoms. This relates to the topic because it

shows how one thing might not mean the other because hard might not

mean strong and soft may not mean weak.

The reactivity of acids and what happens.

In your intro write a brief info about why your interested in and 2 to 3 key points that will capture the reader's interest.

You already got 2 "acids react in may different ways and can harm humans".

How do they react in may different ways? What causes them to react? What makes them cause harm to humans and why?

Man my last science fair project was in elementary school, most of my classmates did volcanos, battery power light bulbs, and other boring stuffs.

I decided to go for broke and created a steam boat, too bad I can't use real fire to display my exhibit. Rolling Eyes

Well here is my rubric.
Code:
[quote]Quality of Information Research and Detail:
20 points: Comprehensive information clearly relates to the main topic. It is clear, focused and interesting; holding reader’s attention. It includes several supporting details and/or examples that enrich the topic.

15 points: Information clearly covers the main topic. It is focused but may not be captivating. It provides 1-2 supporting details and/or examples but the support is limited. Answers some questions about the topics.

5 points: Information clearly relates to the main topic but there may be major gaps in the coverage. It is sometimes hard to follow. No details and/or examples are given. Answers a few questions about the topic.

0 points: Information has little or nothing to do with the main topoic or research has just begun. Many questions answered.

Organization Paragraphs & intro/con:
20 points: Information is very organized with well-constructed paragraphs and subheadings. It enhances topic and is compelling, moving the reader through the paper.

15 points: Information is organized with well constructed paragraphs. It is easily followed, but could be enhanced by rearrangement of a few paragraphs.

5 points: Information is organized, but paragraphs are not well constructed. It is a struggle to follow.

0 points: The information is disorganized. Ideas and details are strung together in a random fashion.

Mechanics:
20 points: No grammatical, spelling or punctuation errors. It demonstrates a good grasps of writing conventions with a few or minor errors that a reader can skim over. All paragraphs include introductory sentence, explanations or details, and concluding sentence.

15 points: Almost no grammatical, spelling or punctuation errors. It may contain errors in conventions, but they are not overwhelming. Most paragraphs, include introductory sentence, explanations, or details, and concluding sentence.

5 points: Some grammatical, spelling, or punctuation errors. Frequent convention errors that detract from paper. Paragraphs included related information but were typically not well constructed.

0: Many grammatical , spelling, or punctuation errors. Errors make text difficult to read.
Everything is plagiarized and/or unorganized. [/quote]

Acids are not mysterious substances that change color or do not exactly harm you. Infact, alot of body functions depend on acids Rolling Eyes

Before handing in your report, user bright white papers instead of ordinary printing sheets. e.g. HP got presentation papers with a brightness of 102 while their everyday printing papers has a brightness of 92.

If you got more than a few pages, go to kinkos, staples or other service center and tell them to comb-bind it for you. This will let your report have a plastic spiral spine which adds even a more professional look to it.

In science, drama is considered a bias and jepordizes the experiment.
Learn to be serious before conducting an experiment.

The outline for any science project is the scientific method, not how dramatic it is.

Start by stating the problem
then move to hypothesis
then test hypothesis
gather data
make a conclusion.

If this is a report,
then simply answer the question, dont state your opinion unless you are asked.

State what an acid is, their function and any other info you might want to add ._.
but again, opinions are not needed.

You already have 2 keypoints stated in your first post.

"acids react in may different ways and can harm humans"

Remeber to give evidence to support your claim and always do citations.
A well written report without giving credit to the rightful owner is called plagerism.

hint: The human stomach

You need to talk about Amino Acids and the citrus counterpart.
