1) This is what my comp looks like (I got a SlimeLine): http://common.ziffdavisinternet.com/util_get_image/11/0,1425,i=116502,00.jpg

2) Okay, basically all games lag for me now, or run very choppy and makes gameplay horrible.
I'm running at 1.5GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA 6150 LE Graphics Card which has like 112 MB of Memory (How do I find the exact amount?).

3) My monitor is 1400x1050

4) My processor is 2.2GHz ~ AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+

5) B-Day is in a week, so i'm thinking of either getting a really nice NVIDIA Graphics Card, or a whole new computer.

6) And i'm rated a 2.4 on Vista when you right click Computer and hit Properties.

...what?

EDIT: Oh ok, you fixed it.

Anyways, your computer is decent. Check if your computer has a PCI-E slot. If it does, just upgrade your graphics card.

I would say get a new comp.
Nothing on that is good.
Buy a new intel processor and Nvidia (80-120$) or ATI (150-400$), with that I mean if you buy a card for 100$ buy nvidia and the rest you get.

DO NOT BUY A READY COMPUTER BUILD IT YOURSELF!!

You gain 50% more on that.

What if I just got a new Graphics Card?

Can anyone recommend a computer around $800, or a nice site to buy from if I decide not to build my own?

go to newegg.com if you're in the US

for $800 you can easily make a good quad core system with a nice graphics card etc.

I find it odd that while the GeForce 6150LE has better feature like sharder model 3.0 and better specs. the score for Vista is actually lower than the Intel GMA950 which lacks SM3.0

The 6150LE come in with a score of 2.0-2.5
Intel GMA950 comes out at
Graphics: 3.3
Gaming: 3.1

Anyway for that case make sure you can install a standard size PCIe card. If not then you'll have to go with low-profile.

I do not recommend quadcore, if your rendering 3D stuff you might need one
otherwise you don't 95% is not supported by quadcore.

If you don't build it get on a site that builds computers and buy from there.
You pay around 70$ for them to build it and you select the parts.
Still much better then ASUS, Alienware, HP, PB, DELL or some shit.
I recommend newegg tho I don't know if they build comps.

Upgrade RAM and Graphics Card in my opinion save yourself some money, but it does require some manual labor (Christ....) worth saving the money though good luck! I suggest looking on www.newegg.com cheap good stuff Very Happy

lol?
why wouldn't you recommend a quad? anything new that comes out later this year or next year will most likely take advantage of multiple cores Confused

Lol yes of course your able to do all the things but it will only use 2 cores.
Why pay good money on somthing that will become old in a year when somthing else is better atm with less money?
Get a E8x00 (8400,8500,8600) I would recommend that.

Btw if your planning to run a server on your computer you might wanna get a quadcore.

if you have a 775 slot or AM2 i think for amd processors and a pci-e slot just upgrade your processor and graphics card. if not just buy a whole new computer, but don't buy one thats already built, buy it in parts
