I prefer rap because music is all about expressing yourself and Rappers do it best, plus I love the songs.

Please refer to my post before you even consider thinking rap isn't music.
Music is the way one express themselve's in a certain manner. Genre's are just way's to classify music that is similar from one song to another.

Stop confusing hip-hop for rap.
Rap has no value whatsoever, and its complete shit.
Rock > Rap simply due to the fact that you make your own music instead of sampling some other person's beats.

I'm talking about rap, 2pac, Biggie, Lil Wayne, etc etc. Not hip-hop.

You can't compare the 2, rap isn't even music. It's just a raped version of the English language which talks about sex, drugs, and guns.

And only people in white hoodies who hang around on street corners listen to rap around my area. 
Music is supposed to include instruments, not techno beats from a computer and songs are supposed to include singing, not shouting from heavy metal or fast talking from wannabe gangsters.
