If I buy a DVD burner for my computer, does it also read DVDs? Or shall I buy a drive?

Yes, DVD burners can burn DVDs and CDs, as well as reading DVDs and CDs.

well now theres really no point of dual drives because now you can just copy the file onto the computer and burn

I have this. It's good, but it's a little noisy. Doesn't bother me though. I use it for PS2 and DVDs.

make sure that it reads DL DVDs also. all of the new DVD drives probably do, but just make sure, because lots of things use DL DVDs nowadays.
