Hey I've been following the pointer tutorials people have posted up, and they're really good. I get everything but I was wondering, what do you do when something like this comes up?
Nobody said anything about this so if anyone knows can you let me know because I can't find pointers for this one game. Thanks a lot |

just look at the registers and what CE suggests
edi is the biggest value and most likely the base address 06f1ef80
the offset is eax+04
In this case the offset is 28+04=2c _________________

| thanks Dark byte, is it like that in all cases though? like this one here lets say its "mov [esi+ebx+0c], would I just add whatever ebx is with 0c and have that be the offset? |

e i know how to make pointer adresses and i compleated the tut but....eh...
WHEN i try to find a level 2 pointer in a game the value is still "??" .
so help me please. give me the best configs of CE for pointers.
then i set the settings in my CE and i will thank you forever   |

you have to find pointers till a base pointer is found. A base pointer is a address in green that can be written as modulename+offset _________________

no, you have to find the pointer to the address
Then the pointer to that pointer
and then the pointer to that new pointer
and repeat till the pointerstart is a static (green) address _________________

yes i do that the whole time ,but when i try to find theadress from the pointer to the pointer i still get the value "??" . and then it says nothink in the debugger window(so i want to say : when i open the debugger window i get the value "??")(when i do "what reads from this adress" - u know. like in the trainer in step 8 )
other people can do thatbecause they have a good configured cheat engine. so please give me the cfg file or the configs  |
