|
|
I was wondering; is it possible (using any downloaded programs that are free) to "program" your browser to go to a certain URL at a certain time?
For example, make firefox access a webpage that records data when it is accessed at 2:51 AM (i.e trend reports on aqstats for adventure quest).
If it is possible, can someone please tell me how to do it, and what I need in order to do it?
+rep offered and many thanks guys.

You could probably make a simple program... ahh i think i got it... You could do it in HTML...
| Code: |
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="5; URL=html-redirect.html">
|
Change 5 to how many seconds it will be for you to want to get redirected to that site..
Say you need it done in 1 hour... 1 hour = 60 minutes... 1 minute = 60 seconds... 60*60 = 3600... put that many seconds in!

OK so if I turn it on at lets say 11:00 PM and I want it to go off at 2:51 AM I would make it:
| Code: | | <META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="13860; URL=html-redirect.html"> | ?
2 questions before +rep:
1.) Where exactly do I type the URL I want it to go to. Please show example with code
2.) You said html, so that means I can just type that into notepad and save it as .html and then open the saved version? I don't need anything else like <html> or anything?

You put the URL where it says URL-HTML-REDIRECT.html... Chan that to http://thing.com/thing.html and done!
2.) You said html, so that means I can just type that into notepad and save it as .html and then open the saved version? I don't need anything else like <html> or anything?
Open NotePad.
Paste that in.
Save As.
Save As "redirect.html' (or whatever)
under where you put the title it will say .txt, change that to the other option...
Save.
Open.
If you timed it right it should work!

so
| Code: | | <META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="13860; URL=www.google.com"> |
like that, for google?
edit: that doesn't work. it redirects to the target of the file (my desktop) slash www.google.com
I want it to just go to google, not the file slash google, thats not a URL, it starts with c://
Can't you just type out the exact code for google after 5 seconds, and I'll just edit it to the right website and right time? I requested that in my second post, question one said please show code >.>

If you have windows xp you can use the scheduler thing in the control panel and have it scheduled to open up a autohotkey program that opens the url.
AHK scripting is very easy and I think they have a tut on their website/help items on how to make it open webpages.
www.autohotkey.com
Easy aint it?
