|
|
1. Why is it every other day when I look at how much HDD space I have left it drops down by 1 or 2 GB's without me even dling anything?
2. How is it I can dual run XP and Vista?
3. If you didnt understand 2, it means how can I have both XP and Vista on my computer.
Thanks in advance. |

data, for my first question.
, I'd be just browseing the internet, and lurking CEF, and for example I'd have 190 GB of HDD space dureing the time I browse the internet, then, maybe like 2 or 3 hours later or if I restart, I'd lose 2 GB of HDD space. |

1. thats weird - if your browsing many many websites with video's or large images etc... then its space being taken by temp files from internet browsing -- or you have some program your using that creates temp files but doesnt remove them causing them to take space up each time you use the program
2. Dual Booting XP and Vista -- you can find guides online for how to do this - I recommend a Google search for Dual Boot XP and Vista
Depending on how much you know you might understand these intructions
Partition your HD - install XP on one partition and Vista on the Other - then windows should automatically be set to display a menu for you to choose wether you want to open XP or Vista when you turn your PC on
hope this helps |

1. you're probably losing space from system restore setting restore points.
2. partition your hdd with a program like norton partition magic, set hdd size you want for your new OS, and then boot with the OS disc. _________________

Install on different partition.
Also do a disk Clean-up to free up the internet cache memory.
Clean the useless system restore point.
You can use PatitionMagic 8(Windows) or G-partion(Linux) to patition your HDD. |

His point 1. is probably what your issue is
on XP it will auto set restore points - and this could be causing you to see where your hd space is shrinking
good thinking FullyAwesome |
