Ok people are talking about how they are finding codes and cheats for assassins creed, tony hawk, and other games like that. How can you find codes for games on consoles? How is that possible?
I mean like this
| Chase Payne wrote: | I found the address to the x coordinates, which you can use to teleport through walls and such.
But when you do find otu what writes to it you get this.
And no pointer value. Plus, it changes every load screen... so its a bit difficult to point to it... pointer scan shows nothing.... so how would I point to this address... I saw phych made a trainer that saves and restore your postion... so im guessing he would know.... and a few others. |

Umm, you sure it is the console or the PC game being cheated.
I know some console games are being cheated by way of emulators.

| I don't think he realizes that the person in that quote is talking about a PC game rather than a console game. :/

| I mean the console games. Using an emulator can allow you to hack a console game and make it to where you can find addresses and values?

Yeah, but you can't just port those hacks and use them on a console if thats what you were thinking.
But, using an emulator, yeah of course you can hack it.
Attach CE to the emulators process, load your game and scan away.
Depending on the emulator/console type your trying to do with give varied results.
Old PS games and certain PS2 emulators returned a lot of static address in CE which is very helpful.
Its not practical to code-inject or change any opcodes for your cheats as you are modifying the emulators memory space and a lot of functions can be piped through the same areas of code.
The alternative is looking for multi-levelled pointers. These can be ridiculous on emulators. The tree-size is massive. But if you want to build up a cheat-table or something similar thats the option you have.
In summary,
-Attach CE to the emulator
-Run whatever you are wanting to do
-Scan using CE
-If its a static addres, add it to the CT
-If not, you'll need to get a handle on a pointer (use CE's P-Scan)
Thats it

| Hacking on consoles is a bit tougher, though. You should google for mods for your console of choice and read up on them. The old xbox has modchips and 'soft mods' that allow you to modify things on the xbox - but realize that they may or may not have a memory editing program such as CE.
