|
|
For those of you not familiar with World in Conflict, it is a RTS game - as you kill others, capture points, etc, you get "TA Points" which allow you to call in airstrikes, nukes, etc.
Well, I found three addresses related to TA points.
1) Does nothing that I can see
2) Changes the displayed TA Points
3) Changes the actual TA points used when calculating what you can buy
all of these are stored as floats, and are non-static (black, not green).
Obviously, I want to change #3, and freeze it to a uber high number.
So, I "Find what writes to this address"
go-host.info/1.jpg
As you can see, I need to search for 7B8807E0 in 4-byte exact value, with hex.
go-host.info/2.jpg
In the upper-left address window, you see I found three addresses with that value. None are static. But I can't search for what writes to those addresses again, because it will crash the game.
Do I need to do something in assembly? Or is this not going to work? Am I doing something wrong?
I can only do this in single player mode on a LAN server, with other players, the search time rockets up, so it is too long to be able to search for the addresses, and manually change the values every game.
Thanks for the help...
(Note: Images not hyperlinked because it won't let me yet....) |

Try the pointer scanner. Or trace the assembly to that instruction to see how it is doing it work. By setting a break point above it in the assembly and step it.
* Do this in window mode if the game lets you.

How is this game? I have been looking at it since before it came out but my pc will not play it.
Does it play sort of like Company of Heros? |

the game is friggin awesome... its the first RTS I've played, so I dunno how it compares with the rest.
I finally figured out the pointers... although the pointers seem to change every 5 times or so I play the game, which drives me up the wall. I've tried a 3-layer deep search for the pointers, but can't get anything past what I have.
I'm wondering if they have some sort of anti-cheat in there that just scrambles everything every now and then.
But, also, I tried the addresses in multiplayer (when finding them, I was just creating a LAN server and searching), it wouldn't allow me to use my new TA points - I saw them, but couldn't use them.
Obviously, TA Points are server sided on internet servers, and client-sided on LAN servers - or maybe it might be that because I was hosting the server while doing the searching, the addresses got merged or something.... who knows.
All I know now is that it either doesn't work, or it'll take a hell of a lot more work than I was hoping for, just to drop 3 nukes at a time on a unsuspecting opponent.
Oh well.
One last thing - don't download the game if you buy it - I bought it on their online store. It only allows three license renewals. get the regular CD - much better idea. |

If your pointer's change it's called a multi level pointer, I made a tutorial on thoose in the tutorial section.

Yeah a ton of things that could be improved upon in that video tut mate, especially when teachning those new to it all. Closing unnecessary windows, putting pointless 0's before offsets.
Plus, this is a vid tut following along with CE's tutorial, which is purposefully done to be simple.
World in conflict will be 'nothing' like that. You'll get shitloads of possible pointers after the first scan, and then another load if you try to find what accesses one of those. Not to mention everything is just so much larger and more complex in memory.
Which is where CE's pointer scanners comes in like Lab said. Or even better use code-injection to do what you want.
In fact, an idea might be to perform some DMA-Stealing and use the static base pointer + offset in your cheat table to always make it available. |

rah.
Pretty much everything I'm coming across is server-sided. Maybe thats why they have no anti-cheat - because everything is server sided. Sucks.
I guess its a good time for me to try my hand in D3D hooking or something... show where all the enemy units are.
Or... maybe if I can freeze where everybody is, then just bombard them with artillery? Hmm...
Lots o' work ahead... seems like I'm really one of the very few who are hacking WiC... I think most people just gave up. |

You have to close both windows for the tutorial in step 8, try it yourself [phyc]
The zeros don't matter as I mentioned in the tutorial.
I also explained that this only happens if you chose ''read'' this address
Which is why i explained that if none of the options work, choose a differ;t pointer base... that's what multi level pointers are a bitch. |

Scan urainum in double, spend it or gain some...
if you gained some select scan type increased value
if you decreased in some select decreased value.
Rinse until you get 1 address.
---------------------
Scan urainum in double
spend or increase uranium enter in the new value of uranium, and click next scan. |

Did you even ''try'' to do step 8 without closing both windows? clearly in the tutorial you can see me spam new scan and first scan and NOTHING comes up, until after i close both windows
I notice half of your smart comments on stuff that you didnt even try...
And yes I do recomend AA than a multi level pointer. |
