Hey guys,
I have been using cheat engine to hack an online card game. I usually screw up a room I go into by modifying the amount of cards people recieve.
The thing is, people pay to play this game online (I think about £10)
Anyway, with no account system on this game (you simply type in a nickname then go online) the members of this game, when they see me, are saying I will be tracked by the Police and fined - because their experience is being ruined.
I have been doing this for 1 day and have had no contact from the developer. Should I be careful?
Thankyou

I'm not entirely convinced that you would be able to edit the amount of cards 'other' players recieve, just because of the way these sorts of multiplayer things work.
Maybe a link to the game stuff would help here, as someone else may be able to help with it. I would always err on the side of caution when cheating/hacking in MP stuff, especially where money is involved. Because as soon as money gets involved in the equation is where you run the really easy risk of getting busted bigstyle.

You aren't hacking into accounts and stealing money, nor are you hacking to win money. Theres nothing illegal with what you are doing. If you are using only Cheat Engine, as you said, you have nothing to worry about. Editing memory on your own machine is 100% legal. They can't do shit to you.
(As for editing what everyone else gets, I don't see this being a CE only thing.)

Its mem editing on your own machine, but it could be causing data packets to go out that are altered, or not what the server is expecting... surely though.
Its having some effect by doing this:
| Code: |
I go into by modifying the amount of cards people recieve
|
Unless that is just 'appearing' to happen...when in fact its not.

By me changing the amount of cards I get it means they hardly get any... Quite funny. I wasn't hacking their computers only what information I was scanning from my memory - I seem to be tricking the server into believing what I have - thus the server modifying their values. Not me.
This game is MEGA simple. Anyway, I was just thinking... I use aimbots and hacks on all the major games like CS, TF2, BF2142, C&C3 etc. why do I never get in trouble when caught on them?

Your altering your memory it isnt going to hurt.
If your playing cards and can cheat for merchandise or money i think you can get in trouble.
But if all your doing is making people mad at you, thats a LOL.
