I would take hamsters, because they breed quickly and usually bring forth 8 babies, and combine them with something flying, like say misquitos because they also bring many diseases with them. Then, finally. I would mash them up with something heavily poisonous, like a rattlesnake or someshit.

End result: Flying swarms of hamster sized misquito-snakes, and with every bite they send little larvae, disease, and poison into their victims.

I'd combine a alligator with a over-sized hawk, and something poisionous and disease infected like a.. uh.. red-bull-ant?. Makeing a red, oversized skale filled hawk, which scales would glow red due to the sun, oh wait, isnt that a Phoenix?
