Cheat Engine

when i installed this program it would start up fine but when i changed a couple settings for stealth mode and hit ok it went to a blue screen and restarted my pc.

I couldnt see the error because it went by too quickly so i uninstalled it and reinstalled it and now i cant even start it up without it crashing my pc to a blue screen and then restarting.

i would appriciate any help i can get thank you in advance

oh my pc is running windows 2000 pro and runs an AMD processor any more info you need just ask.

reinstalling ce 5.0 didn't stop it from crashing ?
because that install disables stealth by default

anyhow, go to the ce folder and delete all .DAT files there
then start ce.


If it still crashes open regedit and go to hkey_local_user\software and delete the complete cheat engine key

yes!!!! it worked thank you thank you. ok quick question for you on my last pc using stealth did not crash my pc how ccan i bypass it so it will work with stealth? thats the only way i can bypass NP or game guard.

try this:
edit c:\boot.ini and change /noexecute=optin to /noexecute=AlwaysOff
and reboot

this will be fixed for next version.
but if that doesn't work no idea.

(also not sure if it'll work for nprotect though)

ahh ok will give it a try thanks again. just trying to play around with psobb before i quit lol. but so far a no go sigh.... well time to restart. if you have any tips please feel free to add to what youve said or anyone else for that matter.

ah yes, win2k.
What service pakc is installed? (I've only tested with no sp, and sp4)

if you enable a option like kernelmode openprocess, do youget a error or does that just work?

does that crash as well ?

no it does not crash when i enable that option.

EDIT: you mean the option under extra and right below Read/write process memory right? and if so no it doesnt make it crash

Ok, delete all the .dat files (again)

then enable kernelmode stealth.
the kerneldata retriever then should start. if it doesn't that may be the problem.

if it does, see if there are blanks, if there are, thats also a bug

activelinkprocess was 0?

If so, that is the problem. The activelinkprocess is a list of running processes, and ce's stealth removes itself from that list. I think I forgot to do a check for 0. (And no idea why it didn't find it, got a anti-virus or other protection program running?)

yes i do have antivirus and firewall. i just disabled them and tried to run the kernal check again. still 0 for active. the top 4 have actual numbers though here is what i get.
